Our future plan is to elaborate advanced therapeutic strategies for boosting the myocardial regeneration by enforcing the stem cells to populate the infarcted myocardium. The newly acquired fluorescence microscopes (Leica Confocal microscope and Nikon epifluorescence microscope) through CARDIOPRO Project will be used to analyze the ability of adult stem cells (of endogenous and exogenous origin) to engraft into the infarcted myocardium and to differentiate into myocardial cells (cardiomyocytes, endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells). The effectiveness of these strategies will be directly evaluated by using Millar Pressure-Volume System (acquired by CARDIOPRO Project) that measures the cardiac parameters in vivo.
