The laboratory is devoted to the basic and applied research in the field of oxide materials with dielectric, ferroelectric, piezoelectric, semiconductor properties, as well as in the field of complex nanostructures. There are three main research directions:
Production and characterization of various nano-objects, such as nanowires, nanotubes, nanorods, nanopowders, core-shell, etc.
Production and characterization of bulk and thin film materials with ferroelectric, piezoelectric or multiferroic properties
Production and characterization of bulk and thin film materials for microwave applications
The laboratory is very well equipped, with new instruments, among which can be mentioned: Pulsed Laser Deposition system; RF-sputtering; SEM; microfluorescence microscope; cryoprobers with vertical and horizontal magnetic fields and facilities for illumination with UV-Vis light; Vector Network Analyzer up to 500 GHz; THz spectrometer up to 7 THz ;; ellipsometer; magnetic dichroism; etc.


Two Janis cryostats,each with 4 optical windows,dedicated to measure one in the temperature range from 20K to 475 K and the other between 77K and 800K.
Gratting Monochromator Oriel, wavelengths 200-6000 nm
Keithley electrometers (2) with incorporated sources for voltages up to 1000 V.
Agilent and Hioki RC bridges
Ferritester 'Precision Premier II' with high voltage interface and amplifier.
Probe-station CPX-VF
TF Analyzer 2000
