Research for Industry is a program developed by the Romanian Institute of Science and Technology for supporting technology transfer and entrepreneurship in advanced research institutions in Romania. The web platform is part of the program, aiming to highlight news, events, funding opportunities, good practices and success stories, while increasing the visibility of technology development activities in Romania. With only a few clicks, it should be possible to identify the companies, startups, and/or research labs active in a certain field, along with their contact information, infrastructure and intellectual property. The Resources section contains a knowledgebase of good practices and models of success for technology transfer and entrepreneurship in research institutions. Last but not least, Research for Industry works closely with selected research institutions, as a Virtual Tech Transfer Office, helping negotiate contracts, file international patents, stimulate entrepreneurship, and attract industrial partners and investors from developed countries.

In addition to the web platform, we work directly with top research institutions helping to train, mentor and network their TTO staff into the relevant industries on an international level, with the aim of attracting private funding from the industry to complement the public funding that the institutions have traditionally relied on.

The Research for Industry program is developed in partnership with the Technology Transfer Office of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, and is co-funded through a grant of 247.991,76 swiss francs from the Swiss-Romanian Cooperation Program, covering 90% of eligible expenses. Another 5% of the budget is co-funded by the Ad Astra Association of Romanian researchers. Detailed information about the project may be found here

Research for Industry helps bridge the gap between the two, enhancing collaborations and high-tech entrepreneurship in Romania.
