The LiveRail platform started in 2007, in Cluj-Napoca, founded by Andrei Dunca, Sergiu Biriş (2 of the cofounders of Trilulilu) and their partner Mark Trefgarne. As of January 2015, Andrei Dunca is still CTO while Sergiu has left the company a few years ago. Andrei Dunca graduated from the Automation and Computer Department of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.
Today, LiveRail management features 2 other Romanians: Ioana Filipaş, VP for Product Engineering, and Antoniu George Savu, VP of Systems Engineering, both graduates of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The company has offices in Cluj-Napoca, San Francisco, New York, London and Paris.
In just 7 years, LiveRail has become one of the most powerful video advertising companies in the world, oscillating between 2nd and 3d place in the comScore online video rankings, throughout 2014.
Sergiu Biriş, the initial cofounder from 2007 has launched in 2012 the Zonga application, the first Romanian mobile music application, offering subscription access to over 18 million tracks. Sergiu Biriş has congratulated the other team members: „Andrei, Mark and the incredible team they have built deserves all credit. I am glad to have been even a small part in this beautiful story. Bravo to them!” wrote Biriş on Facebook.
