Nonlinear nanophotonics for information technologies at molecular level: NLO in quantum dots, in "nano-patterning" and "nano-imaging" (AFM, SNOM). Optical nonlinearities in metamaterials with sub-wavelength periodic and random structures - characterization and applications of enhanced and ultra-fast (fs) nonlinearities. Soliton photonics and laser wave interactions in nonlinear optical materials (wave mixing, stimulated scattering, optical phase conjugation). Properties of quantum systems in micro- and nano-cavities. Information in quantum systems.

Infrastructures

Femtosecond fiber lasers (1030 nm and 1550 nm with SHG and supercontinuum generation), Z-scan setups and wave-mixing setups.
Spatial solitons and soliton waveguide arrays in Lithium Niobate written with very low laser power with applications in ultrafast parallel interconnections and sensor arrays
Nd:YAG nanosecond laser with fundamental Gaussian beam of 150 mJ (1064 nm), SHG (100 mJ, 532 nm) and THG (20 mJ, 355 nm) and coherence length of 0.5 m; highly stable setups)
Atomic Force Microscope/Scanning Near-field Optical Microscope with resolution of 10 nm;
Confocal microscope with resolution of 300 nm.
Couplers to pico- and femto-lasers for study of nonlinear optical processes
