Infrastructures

- The towing tank with the main dimensions of 45x4x3 m is equipped with a new automatic carriage developed in 2009, by Cussons Technology Ltd. A constant towing speed up to 4 m/s can be obtained for a model with maximum length of 4 m and maximum mass of 200 kg. The automatic towing carriage includes the following systems: control of movement and speed, acceleration and deceleration (maximum 1m/s2), emergency braking (that operates up to 3 m/s2) and experimental data acquisition;
- Resistance dynamometer and coupling arm to the towing carriage;
- Guidance system for the movement of the experimental model;
- Open water propeller dynamometer.
